Maybe start by making a mindmap of what the word discovery means (without looking at the rubric) and think about the different discoveries characters makes in tempest, and the impact of these discoveries on their self (physically, emotionally, intellectually etc).

The Tempest is actually a very good text for discovery as it covers a LOT of the rubric and will give you heaps to discuss in essays, IF you prepare well. These include:

DISCOVERY CONCEPTS in 'The Tempest'
- European voyages | Opening up the world
- Self-discovery & personal growth
- Control & the power of knowledge

DISCOVERY CAN BE:
- New | pioneering
- Sudden & unexpected
- Emotional
- Creative
- Intellectual
- Physical
- Spiritual
- Confronting & provocative
- Revealing of new worlds|ideas|speculations
- Revealing of new understandings & renewed perceptions
- Far-reaching & transformative
- Challenged when viewed from different viewpoints
- Reassessed over time (worth)
- Affirming or challenging of assumptions about human behaviour

PM me for info about notes on 'The Tempest: AOS Discovery' that cover these aspects :)
