Is BBus just Commerce in another language?

Business Admin. is not a wannabe course.

App. Finance isn't a throwdown... although come to think of it, it is - it's a cross between Economics and Accounting both of which are useless IMO. :p

business is more to do with the management side wheras commerce is more to do with the application side.

no, BBA is a specialist degree (like MBA). in bba, there is a lot of emphasis on admin alone wheras in BBus, u get to choose an area of specialisation

ok, put it anyother way, if someone can get the UAI/Marks for both, one would not choice business admin over BBUS right?

BBUS is seen as a higher more prestidgious course????

again, it depends, if u are doing a degree in admin/management in general, go for BBA. but if u are interested in specialisaion in a certain field like accounting, marketing, finance etc go for BBus

Business and commerce are exactly the same with almost the same subjects depending on what University. Commerce is just the old word for Business and so of course some Universities keep it to make thier degree seem more prestegious when it is exactly the same.

BBus is a UTS course
BBA is a macq course ...
so, if i were u, i'd choose macq. its meant to be better for business-related courses

so what the hell does that mean?

you do a Business Course, but major in only one area???? (ie Admin, Accounting, or Marketing?)

where as at say, UTS you do a BBus course and major in whatever you want (2)?

with BBA @ macquarie u can major in two chosen electives ,,, accounting, marketing, finance, human resources, organisational psychology etc. ..

and u can also combine this course in a double degree, with for example accounting, psychology, economics etc.

depends wat u want!

I remember at the MQ open day last yr, one of the faculty staff was indirectly telling me that a BBA is useless, and do do Commerce because its more applicable for a business career

Commerce (or Business) is a very generic broadname... while Economics is a particular area/field in Commerce.

heh flyin's summed it up in a nutshell.

basically, in a Commerce degree, ur free to do any major/s u wish, but in an Economics degree, at least 1 major must be in an Economics/Econometrics related area
