I don't go to Burwood High.
Although i thought going to a Private/Selective school you had to apply certain years. Like they don't take people in year 11 or 12.

Not sure though.

Burwood Girls High School is a Publich High School as you may be already aware. As a Public High School, no Selective High School-like entrance criteria will be required. However, they will ask for your report & results.

I am quite sure there will be vacancies in Year 9. I have few friends go there and you will see that the number in that school tends to decrease over the years (i.e from Year 7 to Year 12).

And yes you can apply mid-way through the year. You chance highly depends on your report (i.e. your behaviour, result and other merits).

To above: if you don't know anything, don't even bother posting.

I go!
If you live in-zone, near the school, it's highly likely they'll accept you.
Based on personal experience, I moved near the area mid-way Year 9 and applied for the nearest school (which happened to be BGHS), and they accepted me without any problem. But if you don't live near, you have to be put on some sort of waiting list.
That's just my thoughts, asking the school yourself would be more accurate.
