Teen caught after kidnap and murders

Pennsylvania police said today they had arrested an 18-year-old accused of murdering his 14-year-old girlfriend's parents and abducting her.

David Ludwig was arrested by Indiana state police following a massive, multi-state manhunt that ended in a high speed car chase, police officials said.

His girlfriend, Kara Beth Borden, was also taken into police custody.

"They are okay, everything is fine and they are both in custody at this point in time," Warwick Township police chief Richard Garipoli, who is leading the investigation, told reporters.

Ludwig was charged with two counts of criminal homicide for allegedly killing Borden's mother and father at their home yesterday with single shots to the head.

Ludwig was also charged with kidnapping, amid questions as to whether Kara Beth Borden had been involved in the killings or abducted against her will.

"We have every reason to believe at this point in time, with the evidence, that this was premeditated, deliberate and intentional," said Lancaster County District Attorney Donald Totaro.

The shooting followed an apparent argument between Ludwig and the Borden parents who were reportedly furious that he had kept their daughter out all night.

Kara Beth's brother, David, nine, and sister Katelyn, 15, were inside the house at the time of the killings.

Katelyn told police she watched Ludwig shoot her father and then hid in a bathroom while he allegedly killed her mother.

Well if your going to knock me, you could do a better job, for starters, its more like 12x.

And even with this fact, that doesnt account for why their country is fucked. Using your theory, I would expect to see at least 2 school shootings because they have about 20?

I doubt this has anything to do with the increased levels of murders in the US, but maybe selling automatic weapons etc in K-Mart doesnt help their cause along with their society that has its values in the wrong areas.

Guns do contribute to it, the school shootings in the US are a perfect eg, if weapons werent readily available then the means to conduct such actions wouldnt be available.

As for the emotionally unstable thing, yes, and their are more emotionally unstable people in the US.

Like I said, the availability of weapons has a clear effect on the level of crime/murders. Of course you'd expect more crim cos they have more people, thats obvious, but I bet ya if you look it up they have a higher rate per capita of crime or at the very least a higher rate of violent crimes

Why would you link to total stas, unless you want to distort the truth, the per capita stats do show USA to be marginally ahead of Australia in some of them. However need I point out that Australia has one of the highest manslaughter per capita rates, likely as more of our murders may be prosecuted as manslaughter rather than murder.

And you say we have one of the highest manslaughter per capita, well we are at 0.01 per 1000, and the US doesnt have any stats on this, so I would go to the extent of saying that ours isnt that high and that the US in fact would be higher!

As for rapes, that is about the ONLY stat which is favourable to your view.
