Does anyone know how to improve accuracy and validity of the experiment on the effect of substrate concentration on enzymes?
We have an in class assessment tomorrow. I know that to improve reliability of the experiment the students need to repeat the experiment several times and compare the results. If the same results occur each time, the experimental method is shown to be reliable. Would anyone also happen to have any skills questions regarding this experiment?

Thanks:)

If it was to do with measuring the amount of bubbles produced in a test tube. (Hopefully I'm thinking of the same experiment) You could write about ensuring that every time you measured the level of bubbles, you made sure it was from the exact same base point and that the measurement was done at the same the bubbles were reacting, so you can get the answer as soon as the reaction ceases...

Something like that I guess.

If you are having an unseen prac test, you will have to be able to think on the spot as there are many ways to do this experiment. (Personally I did the catalase and measuring the bubbles)

Validity: does the experiment successfully explore hypothesis?
Accuracy: Think of using the same mark to measure the bubbles, right measuring equipment etc.
Reliability: Suitable range of values for trend to be established? Repetition?
