not sure where you can get some info... out teacher has basiclly just told us for safety:
~ take care with glasswear
~ when heating anything, saftey goggles, dont touch hot things etc.
~ When doing the microbes in water and food prac, do not open samples once you have started the experiment.
Justr sort of make them up according to the prac - most of them will have their own risks...
For ways to improve it:
~ repeat it
~ use more accurate ,means of measurement (i.e 2.d.p, if you need 10mL of water use a measuring cylinder or even a pippette-not a beaker)
~ if heating something use a heat shield
~ try to keep it in a 'closed' environment.
For the enzyme ones, ( is this the effects of pH, temp and substrate conc?)
~try to maintain the temp of the water bats as acurately as possible (i.e constantly monitor)
~ Ensure mesurement as as accurate as possible (it really mattrs in this prac)
~ Take care when handling glassware
~ be carefull aroung the heating mat etc
anyone think of anything else?
