A source quoted by the Herald Sun as a Hell's Angels insider said gang members used a blowtorch to burn a Hell's Angels tattoo from his arm as part of a ritual of punishment for bringing police attention to the club.
Hudson was chained up as the tattoo was removed with an oxyacetylene torch, the insider said.
Hudson surrendered to police in June 2007 - two days after the killing at Wallan, north of Melbourne - with a heavily bandaged arm.
"Look at the bandage, it goes right up to the elbow ... it's a burns bandage," the insider said.
Hudson was jailed for 35 years for the murder of lawyer Brendan Keilar and shooting Dutch tourist Paul de Waard and girlfriend Kaera Douglas.
Hudson had defected from rival gang The Finks in 2006, causing widespread tensions in the bikie gang community, and was a regular drug and alcohol consumer, the Hell's Angels insider said.
He fled to a gang safehouse north of Melbourne to come down from a drug binge following the shootings, where leaders debated what to do with Hudson.
"Some didn't like the problems he brought with him," a Hells Angels insider said.
"They thought, 'F*** him. He got into it himself.' And with all the trouble he caused us with The Finks, they thought: 'Why didn't he do this then'?"
"They thought he should have done what he did to The Finks, not to innocent people".
