Well it seems UTS ranks above the rest in International rankings for Law which is a bit weird, followed by Macquarie and Wollongong. WSU doesn't make the cut I'm afraid.

They're quite far away from each other, which gives you a few things to consider.

Would you have to move to either (both?) of them? What are the living costs if you are moving out? How much would you have to travel if staying at home? Where are more of your friends going?

its actually not compulsory! if you think youre going to do really well in the hsc, and not great in the lat, youre better off not doing the lat. They will still let u in! I can say this because my friend got in last year with 99.95 and didnt do lat!

So LAT is for Law like how UCAT is for medicine?

But that's with a 99.95, no course will turn you down with that?

For me it would be between UTS and Macquarie.

UTS law is known for its practical approach and I think it is great.
This is my fifth and final year there. However, I have also heard great things about Macquarie. Two of my closest friends did law and graduated from Macquarie last year and they loved it.

wait really, but I definitely would not get a 99.5 so that seems like my only option

I’d suggest visiting MQ, Wollongong and UTS campuses before choosing if possible.

Are you near Woollongong or will you be moving closer to go to Uni there.

I wouldn't move out but Wollongong is the closest to me

Its a fairly slim margin between all universities.

UTS probably at the top
UoW, Mac, and WSU probably an equal tie for third.

UTS will give you a wider network around the CBD. UoW and WSU have really open campuses. Not too sure about Macquarie. Each uni has a staff member allocated for first-year students- you can call through and ask them directly about their program structure and if there is a particular area of law they can help you specialise in (eg, if you are interested in family law / commercial law / etc).
