hey,

im interested in the new 2010 model VW POLO 6R 66TDI Comfortline auto. im wondering when is the best time to buy a VW ( when do they usually have their sales) and how much money is reasonable to haggle for the VW POLO 6R 66TDI Comfortline auto. thanks

Well if you go for a 2010 plate, you should be able to get decent deals over the next few months as they struggle to get rid of an "old" car (because the resale value will be down compared to a 2011 plate).

That being said, seeing that it just won Wheels Car of the Year, it's unlikely you can haggle much since they know there is strong demand for it... same thing happened with VW Golf GTI.

Have you driven the car yet/seen it in the flesh? Despite what RRP and magazine review comparisons say (which is always based on RRP), you really need to consider a car's "total price" for you which includes delivery charges (typically more for non-Japanese cars) as well as ongoing costs (e.g. what petrol is required, insurance, etc). Either way, if you're dead set on this car and have cash set, just approach a few dealers and say "cash price driveaway". And then go from there.
