I've having trouble bringing together my thesis.

At times I think the issues I'm addressing might be too narrow, because I wanted to focus on relationships.

Is that okay?

But then, shouldn't a thesis be an argument you are able to adapt to every question, and I don't know if my thesis is like that.

If you feel as if you should focus on relationships, then you should.

Belonging is a complex and contradictory notion, and is shaped by cultural, historical and social contexts such as the relationships with friends and family.

I just made that up - but that's a pretty general statement, then I zoomed up upon 'relationships'.
