Hey all,
Is the level of maths in Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance @ UTS far beyond that in a finance major (in terms of difficulty and value to an employer) at say UNSW or MACQ? From what I have been told, the level of maths in UTS BBus is fairly minimal in first year at least, compared to other unis offering Commerce degrees. If anyone can shed any more light on this I would appreciate it.
I do 2u maths atm, and don't do particularly well. I think this is more from a lack of effort as opposed to lack of ability. So I want to know if with a fair amount of work this course would be a viable option, or whether I should stick to a commerce degree with a finance major, given my maths isn't brilliant.
Any advice is appreciated. Below are the webpages for the courses I'm referring to:
UTS: Undergraduate and postgraduate coursework details - International Students
UTS: C10155v5 Bachelor of Mathematics and Finance - UTS Handbook 2009
