How does FLW reflect and promote a loss of faith in foundational schemes such as Victorian Christianity, morality, etc.?

thanks :D

Read up on "vicious cycles" (e.g. short circuits) within postmodernist literary theory!

The question is basically asking "How does FLW subvert metanarratives?"

Respond by identifying what metanarratives are, where they are derived from, how dogmas such as religion and morality are examples of such. Remember to echo the question-- postmodernism is all about skepticism and "loss of faith".

From there, you can lead on by explaining how Fowles' vicious cycles are used to subvert traditional paradigms (namely, through displacing the omniscient author, Darwinism, etc.)

:)

ah ok yep, i ended up focusing on christian/colonial meta-narratives as well as Fowles' stance on authorship (ie, echoing foucault) for the halfies. thanks!
