How obvious does something have to be in a diagram to be able to say 'as seen in the diagram'? Just looking at the 05 paper, Q4i. Seems obvious enough, but just wondering if u have to prove the tangent to an ellipse at x=0 is parallel to the x axis or can i just say, as seen in the diagram?

umm, the normal passes through (0. -b), thats shown in the diagram, so you can just state it. hope i answered your question. and if you want to state something from diagram, make sure it shown in the diagram or provided to you as facts for the question, otherwise, you cannot say "ass seen from diagram". Oh and btw, HI-5 for obtaining the same mark in SOR, glad we didnt do it this year. =)
