lmao imma keep ragebaiting for more angys

creative writing sucks
Its so much more subjective than an essay which is already subjective enough
who made up this subject purely based on making children write what the world wants them to write
metaphor this, anaphora that,
yk what, im gonna rebel and only use one syllable words in my next creative piece

Honestly I used to do really good at SAC when they gave us like a topic or smth such as the political stuff or the truth or smth. But then after that I just started flunking and I have just forgotten the secret formula I guess

I remember in year 9 they made us do a stupid assessment where we had to create a visual representation based on the Shakespeare text we were studying and then we had to do a reflection on it. That was by far the most subjective and stupid assessment ever. Like is this visual arts or smth. And the people who actually made good representations got lower marks than people who did some random shit.

bro all i do is memorise a bunch of techniques and spam them in the answers lol.
basically just same as with an essay, remember to ANSWER THE QUESTION instead of repeating it.
my structure is usually:
[equivalent of a topic sentence that answers the question by giving my own insight]
[a quote] + [technique]
[how does that relate to my insight?]
[so then how does that relate to the question?]
repeat for as many marks as there are minus 1 (or more if you wanna be extra rigorous)
i think common mistakes ppl make is not really understanding the vibe of a short answer piece as a whole, instead focusing more on the micro techniques. for example, in my half yearly, there was a question on "how the poet uses imagery to convey the individual's experience within society". i made sure to write my own interpretation, which was that is was about depression and how people hide their true feelings. it would not have been enough to just say "the poet conveys the individual's experience by.." then launching into techniques, you need to actually answer the question.
another common thing is not reading the question lmaoo. for this specific question, you had to actually analyse imagery, it didnt get you marks to look at repetition or rhetorical questions for example.
idk if this will help but it's what i usually do and it works great LMAO.
send help with essays and creatives tho💔🥀
