Well by using various case studies you obviously have the choice of choosing which part of the case study fits the question the best, and will generally give you an advantage over someone who just studies one major case study which might not suit the question as well.

Also I guess it will differentiate your essay from others, since most people will use one case study and yours will stand out since you either are using various case studies or can relate it to contemporary issues.
