The raw mark that you achieve in the exam (ie total of the marks awarded to you by HSC markers for one exam), is then changed/scaled/aligned by the Board of Studies, depending upon the exam's difficulty.. to a mark that is comparable to the rest of the cohort.
In other words.. aligned marks are your raw marks that are scaled, and then reported on your HSC documents.

Alrite then where does our normal school marks go towards or do they just get our overall rank for that?

They just take your overall rank. That's why its so important

Alrite well if i give you me overall school marks could some1 esimate wat i'll get in UAI.

Chemistry: 7/16
Biology: 9/62
English: 69/207
Maths: 10/70
Maths Ext1: 5/14
STudies of religion: 22/44..stufed that up
