um... there's plenty on speer...
though i wouldn't trust the net much, it's written by a lot of love/hate nazi groups...
go to your library's biography section... should be quite a few books, although they're long... (as biographies are)

theres heaps on speer I agree look in the biography section, umm Dan van der Vat's book is good and he's a historian too so you can use him in your essay. sometimes also you have to pick up a book on Germany and check the index. "Republic to Reich" is an excellent text for that.

No doubt you Speer fans caught the superb program on ABC yesterday "Visions of Space - Albert Speer - Size Matters". It was mainly about the political significance of Speers buildings / plans i.e. awe people with the scale of it and encourage conformity etc. BUT it was essentially this old AUSTRALIAN architect who discovered a tape of a vioce recording he had with Speer decades ago...it then proceeds to fling mud on Speer...when he had the bunch of jews kicked out of berlin for 'Germania', he had most of them sent to masons, to hand craft the huge stones used in his architecture!
The doco also goes thru a lovely 3-D construction of what Germania wouldve looked like, and employs stunning filming thru-out.
I did Speer last year, and I can honestly say this was the best thing ive seen on him...not only did it ofer an australian perspective, but it did it sooo well....dudes, you must see!

You could probably organise a copy if you rang the abc...but I was really surprised by the new revelation that the jews he had kicked out of berlin were made to carve huge stones for him, with many dying in the process.

the second edition of Republic to Reich has an excellent chapter on Speer that the authors included to coincide the personality study. The text is by K.J. Mason and is like a Germany bible.
