Hi everyone reading this post. I have a question in relation with abs equations. Thanks in advance!! :)

Consider the following equation

|x^2-4x-5 |=k

1.Find the set of real values of k when it has 2 solutions
2.Find the set of real values of k when it has 3 solutions
3.Find the set of real values of k when it has 4 solutions
4.Find the set of real values of k when it has no solution

Try to visualise it 'graphically', I did a plot to see it.



Think of 'k' as where the horizontal line and where it intersects with the absolute valued quadratic function:

For two solutions (Q.1), we can also have k > 9.
