I know this is for Victoria but since its a federal government initiative we may see something similar happening here, although for courses in high demand i doubt there will be much of a difference.

From what I've read, the uncapping is effective in all states and territories.

Just a word of caution though. Even though places are being uncapped, this doesn't guarantee a decrease in the cut-off. It is up to the discretion of the university to decide how they choose to approach a potential expansion within certain faculties and these things could take time. Hopefully for you guys, I hope the universities knew about the decision well in advance (most likely) so they could plan ahead.

I think for most courses worth doing there wont be much of a difference. But it should help out some people so its good.
