So I am confident I should get into my first preference which is Architecture at USYD. I just found a draft timetable for the undergraduate degree on their website. The link is as follows. Timetable

A core unit of study is "Architecture Studio 101" on the second page. As you can see, it has three separate classes, yet the first two back into each other. Also notice how each of these are class 1... This confuses me! Does that mean I go to all three classes on that given day? If so, that would mean I would spend 6 hours doing the one class with only one hour scheduled break?? Is that common lol?

Comparatively, look at "Architectural Sketching and Drawing" on the first page. It has 6 separate classes each two hours long. By the look of it, if I were to take that elective unit of study, I would get to choose which class to go to.

Am I right, lol?
Thanks in advance =]

i think you're interpreting that right. the studio thing is designed as a full-day subject, so you have a lecture in the morning and then spend the afternoon doing practical design stuff, with an hour's break for lunch. that isn't common for most subjects, but architecture is an unusual course so its subjects work in a different way to other faculties.

for the sketching/drawing one i think you'd just go to one lecture out of the six. because of the way the timetabling system works you probably can't choose which one you go to as such, but you can probably manipulate the timetable program to give you a decent time.

Awesome. Thanks. Repped =]

Any explanation for why the first two classes back into each other, other than the fact they are in two different places? It seems stupid to have four hours of classes then two hours in the afternoon aye... On the plus side, I now know I'll only be spending a max of 4 days at uni a week!

Lecturers will give you breaks and stuff, yeh? I presume so, but it's one of those things you need to hear hahaha.
