Belonging has an exceptional influence over our lives, more than we realise. It is that invisible force which dwells within our subconscious, making our social decisions for us. It is a craving, a desire and for most, a basic human need. But such a concept is far too difficult to summarise. It is both simple and complex, superficial and ambiguous. In approaching the concept of belonging ask yourself the following: who, what, where, how and why do I belong? The answers are surprisingly similar for all of us.
