I am curious on users opinions on the new format/layout of next year's HSC Physics paper by the NSW BOS.
From what i have heard/read the new format will have 20 marks for the 15 multiple choice with perhaps 2 marks on the last 5 multiple choice questions.
i.e.
Section I -
Part A
Q1-10 - 1 mark each
Q11-15 - 2 marks each.
Part B
Will not be worth 60 marks any more but instead 55 marks.
Here is the official statement from BOS....
OMG.... NO look at Part B 10 short answer questions... this paper is well and truly screwed...look out school certificate there is a new demon... Even the option has been tampered with seven part question?????????? and WOWZA an 8 mark question in the option HOLY SMOKE!!!!!!bring in RASPUTIN....
Part A (20 marks)
• There will be objective response questions to the value of 20 marks.
Part B (55 marks)
• There will be approximately 10 short-answer questions.
• Questions may contain parts.
• There will be approximately 18 items in total.
• At least one item will be worth from 6 to 8 marks.
Section II – Options (25 marks)
• There will be five questions, one for each of the options.
• Candidates will be required to answer the question on the option they have studied.
• Each question will consist of approximately seven short-answer parts.
• At least one part will be worth from 6 to 8 marks.
