How can 2 or more people come top of the course? Is it by getting same HSC result?

no. Your rank in your school assessment does not matter (if you are comparing people who went to different schools). You come equal 1st if you get the same HSC mark (which is the average of your external exam and your moderated school assessment mark). However, I don't think its quite this simple, as [thread=167115]this thread[/thread] shows.
