2 gen eds? (1 Viewer)

Any of you guys tried enrolling in two gen eds?

I've enrolled in astronomy GENS4001 and this other movie watching one GENS1004. They're both in XC, but they run at different dates (16/02->20/02 and 09/02->13/02).

myunsw doesn't seem to be able to differentiate dates, and it tells me I've got a clash because the run at the same time (but not the same dates)

Any thoughts?

Hmm..mayb u aint allowed to do 2 gen eds in the same session thingy? (ie. XC)
I'm not sure...I suggest u contact someone that can answer why

As if 3 subjects is a bludge!
Besides, if you do a gen-ed out of summer break time, some take up more time per week than a 6UOC subject ! That's not cool

In commerce it is
- Legal Environment of Commerce (1st yr subject)
- International Business + MNE's (seems easy)
- Managment Accounting

I've asked a CSE guy and he said you can actually enrol in two gen eds in the one session. Amy enrolled in two gen eds as well, except on her timetable she gets the orange "permited clash" - and I get the red "class clash".

The CSE guy hasn't gotten back to me about that yet.

Shes enrolled in the murder one, GENT0911 - you're doing that one too aren't you?

GENS4001 - Astronomy
Start Date 16/02/2004 End Date 20/02/2004

GENS1004 - Science and the Cinema
Start Date 09/02/2004 End Date 13/02/2004

The CSE guy got back to me and basically said even though myUNSW reports it to be clashing, it appears I'm enrolled.

Hi Sunny,

If that is the case with the clash and you are still enrolled in both
(which it appears that you are) then that is OK.

Let me know if you have any problems with this.

i didn't feel like doing two gen eds. i think mine clashed with everything else interesting.

I just thought doing gen eds now will save me the 6uoc of work during session - which might be a bonus and I can concentrate more on the COMP subjects.

Can you still enrol for the XC session?
I'm finding it hard to do so, and student.unsw.edu.au/Virtual Handbook isn't working..
I'm on MyUNSW, logged in, but I can't find how to enrol in the XC gen ed courses, and I can't look them up anymore, cos it seems student.unsw is down..

Just a stupid question: how do you find out what dates the gen eds run during?

There are general dates for XA, XB and XC

Once you know what session the subject falls under you have a good idea - just look at the subject homepage or use class search on myUNSW to find the details.
