Actuarial shouldn't be as high (UAI) as it was last year. It's around the right place now. I don't think it'll fall below 95, and I don't think it will rise above 98 (single degree, that is) anytime in the near future.

I think it's hard to speculate on which way the cutoffs will go because there are too many variables.

Their could be a TV show about Actuaries a la 'The Practice' and the cut offs could all jump over 99.

Or there could be a movie that portrays the profession as boring and the cut off could fall below 95....or did they make a movie like that already? ;)

About Smicht?

It's usually Demand and Supply, and with limited places, it doesn't change that much. Anyway, doesn't matter / concern us because we're actually studying it.

It won't jump much, thanks to the introduction of actuarial at UNSW. If UNSW get a really bad rap about their actuarial program, the UAI at Macq might rise. Otherwise, it'll be so and so.

yeah About Schmidt. Good movie.

There is also a Ben Stiller movie where he plays an Actuary but I forget the name.

it's funny in ECON110 on WebCT, hundreds of students posting their MSNs in hope of getting someone to explain the course to them
