    48 Hours!!!

No, not really. Just go to school with the intention to absolutely listen to every bit of information that comes out of your teachers mouth and start writing your notes and reading texts and stuff from day one. Go over the text book and look at examples and just read the content before the next...

    help................

Are you doing your HSC in 2006 or was that just a mistake when making your account? If you are, then why bother getting a tutor this late? If not, then there is plenty of time to independently achieve high results.

    mod hist gitters!

Depends what school you go to. If you go to a school in the top 10, then that must have been quite a difficult test. But if you go to a school in the bottom 20 then more than likely your grade isnt very academic. However, you can still achieve great results in a shit school no matter how bad it...

    Help!!.. any advise

I think you should give it a chance. You should try and change your attitude towards it and once you start beating other people in your class you will more than likely enjoy it alot more. If you still hate it then you can just drop it any time in yr12. So what difference does it make if you...

Is The SC harder or easier than the trials?

SC is a freaking sinch. There is no need to study if your basically not retarded. Remember, they have to make the test easy enough for all that people that cant read and write or count, so if you have an extremely basic understanding of the stuff learnt then its either a band 5/6 even without...

Why is everyone doing their HSC?

Why is everyone doing their HSC?

Well, you gotta set your goals higher than what you want. You need some kind of buffer zone. Also, isnt Law and Medicine both really up there in terms of UAI?

    School break?

Um... Why do private schools get three weeks? Just doesent sound fair. I always thought they get less holiday time.

    What are tutors for?

I would probably get a tutor for english and maths, but there really is no need for a tutor in subjects where you just memorise content like physics, economics and history. Sure physics has some math involved but its practically learning the formula and substitution.

texts books for year 11 and 12

Some questions dont have answers, and alot of the questions in some chapters are proof questions for which they also have no answers. I sometimes find it frustrating.

texts books for year 11 and 12

Physics: jacaranda, contexts, or macmillan(heard it sucks). 3 unit: Cambridge has really good questions but the examples and answers are shithouse. Ive got maths in focus which has the best examples but doesent really have questions where you have to think its just all repitition. As someone...

    Tutors and coaching Centres

Never been to tutoring. Where there is a will there is a way (something along those lines). Learning from textbooks is really all you need, there are clear examples which help you do the questions and if you dont understand something you can always ask your teacher the next day. I guess the only...

    - High business executive for some engineering company. - 95 - Commerce/engineering (Project management) UNSW or USYD

    School break?

Getting someone to 'help' you study would more than likely just be an excuse not to study. :)

What are the best Text books to study with?

I dont know for your subjects but for others going from yr10 to yr11 who are doing maths, chem and phyics. For maths (EXT 1) i found cambridge the best as it has good examples with alot of questions and they vary in difficulty from extremely easy to extremely hard. The best prelim book for...

How do you study the syllabus???

    - Purchase an adequete testbook - Find yourself someone elses summary which is pretty indepth. - Make notes based on the syllabus dots points from 'Students learn to' - Answer the questions which involve calculations from the textbook as u go through making the notes. - Usually its easier to...

Prelimary a stepping stone for HSC?

i disagree with what you said about the HSC courses becoming harder, if anything they have become easier. I look at my older brothers really old textbooks for chemistry and physics and it sure is alot harder. For example, in the physics prelim course they used to have to do string tension and...

    assumed knowledge - HELP!

Also, i was just starting production of materials and i realised it would be very useful to revise some organic chemistry from the yr11 energy module before beginning.
