Big 4 Accounting Firms Internships 2008

Did anyone apply for the ANZ Summer Intern Program in Sydney (Corporate Banking)? I applied a few weeks back and have not heard anything since then... however I heard that the people who applied for 'Accounting and Finance' in Melbourne got an email telling them that the internship program...

Big 4 Accounting Firms Internships 2008

I've got the KPMG assessment and interview day booked for next week - anyone who's gone through this process mind sharing some advice/tips? I really don't want to mess this up lol! I've also got the information session tomorrow but I'm wondering whether to go or not... I've got some pretty...

    Rudd Vows Education Revolution

See this SMH article: http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/rudd-vows-education-revolution/2007/01/22/1169330827940.html?page=2 A few key quotes: I'm glad to see that education has again become a top priority and I absolutely agree that it is ridiculous that government funding towards...

    ISM Co-op Scholarship Question

No that's the thing I didn't apply for BIT specifically because I wanted a Commerce degree not a Science degree. Is there anyone here who is either a current ISM co-op recipient or will be this year who can field this question?

    ISM Co-op Scholarship Question

Yeah that's the thing I thought ISM was B.Com as well, as this is what it says on their site and in the Co-op Booklet but when the lady called up and offered it to me she said I need to apply for B.Science (Information Systems)? BTW are you doing the ISM Co-op or do you know anyone who is?

    ISM Co-op Scholarship Question

Hey, does anyone know whether the Information Systems and Management Co-op Scholarship Program at UNSW leads to the Bachelor of Commerce degree, or the Bachelor of Science (Information Systems) degree because I am getting some conflicting information?

    Late Round Offers Question

Lol yeah I realised how many times I wrote those two words as soon as I posted it but it was the only way I could think of adequately describing the situation. Anyways thanks for your answer.

    Late Round Offers Question

Hey guys, just a question. I've already received an offer in the Main Round which I have accepted, but if I receive another offer in the Late Round am I in any way obligated to unenrol from my Main Round offer and accept my Late Round offer or can I quite easily reject my Late Round offer and...

Uni Entry System about to Collapse (SMH) - (re: UNSW)

Man somebody ban this retard - I hate people like this who think they are so great because they can make big threats on the internet via their anonymous forum accounts when in reality they were just dropped on their head as a baby. If you can't respond to arguments in a constructive way then you...

In that case you might want to read through this thread: http://community.boredofstudies.org/586/general-university-discussion/132897/people-who-got-below-cut-off-but-got-offer.html I think it's actually more than just a "few" places actually, as I, and most people I have spoken to that...

Don't feel silly, it is confusing [SMH]

http://www.smh.com.au/news/national/dont-feel-silly-it-is-confusing/2007/01/19/1169095977185.html Hmm another university entrance-related story by the SMH - that's two in two days now. Anyways, what do people think of the current system of receiving university offers? What have your...

    How did you get in?

Can I just ask, are you saying that you got a UAI in the low 90s and yet managed to transfer into UNSW Law after the first year of your degree? I thought that UNSW stated you generally need a UAI of 97 and a Distinction average, so wouldn't a low 90s UAI make it pretty much impossible to...

Uni Entry System about to Collapse (SMH) - (re: UNSW)

You don't seem to understand that the cut-off is not a legitimate cut-off as defined by UAC: This means that while the cut-off may represent the UAI necessary for guaranteed entry into the course, the actual cut-off is arbitrary in nature as people with significantly lower UAIs have been...

Uni Entry System about to Collapse (SMH) - (re: UNSW)

I totally agree with the article (despite finding the quoting of BOS hilarious) and others on this thread. The whole idea behind the complicated scaling processes resulting in the UAI was meant to be that it represented our performance compared to others in the state regardless of subjects...

Post your 2007 University Offers Here!

Are you on EAS or any sort of access scheme, or is this for a DFEE place? Or is this another case of people getting into UNSW Commerce significantly below the UAI cutoff?
  18. Smeed

    Commerce @ USYD = OMGWTFBBQ

Nup back in 2004 UNSW Commerce was 96 and USYD Commerce was low 95s, but yeah it is very strange that the cutoffs could jump so much in one year, especially UNSW jumping by 2.1.

So Who's Starting an Accounting Cadetship?

Thanks for that. Yeah I was offered a cadetship at BDO but ultimately I ended up taking the KPMG one because I felt that as they were larger, I would have more opportunities to travel overseas etc. but I quite liked BDO and would definitely not have minded doing a cadeship there.

So Who's Starting an Accounting Cadetship?

Hmm that's interesting yeah 6 years is a long time but with EY encouraging double degrees (or so I've heard) it could well be worth it. BTW, by legal division, does this mean that EY conducts legal work for its clients, or does this refer to an in-house legal counsel which deals with EY's legal...
