    Would Anyone Critique My Proposal?

Hi sleepplease, When posting this sort of thing, the most important thing to post is your actual assessment "question". I'm sure your school gave you some sort of written assignment, and that is what I'd use as a base for any sort of critique. - Jess

    50/50 in 4U English

I completed my HSC in 2006 with a perfect 50/50 in 4 unit (extension 2) English and a UAI well over 95. If you've solidified your concept, I'd love to work with you towards perfecting your internal assessment tasks and/or helping you to produce a solid, well written major work. I'm happy...

    not started..?

May I ask who your sister is? Just a first name will do. I go to SGHS too, and I'm pretty sure that her advisor would've been the same as mine, because the other wouldn't have let you get away with leaving it THAT late.

    Word Count

My teacher actually told us NOT to include our word count. For some odd, odd reason. I did anyways; too late, I suppose. I was well within, in any case. Didn't have a problem with quotes because most of them were included in footnotes, so yeah. Lucky that, I suppose! Oh, and on the formatting...

    date approaching - finished?

Finito, thank God. ... well, except the diary. Erm, about that...

    Fairfield High Thing?

We don't go to anything remotely similar; in fact, we don't even get TOLD about anything remotely similar. We're in the middle of assessments at the moment, though, so I suppose I can't go in any case. In other news - we have a report as our second assessment as opposed to a viva voce. The...

    Ross Gittens

Yes, Riviet, he did have a daughter, and she did Economics at my school. He used to come in and lecture :P But that was some time ago now, although our eco teachers look "back in the day" as it were in pride. And yes, he did (at the time, anyways) at some stage say that he specifically wrote...

    How did your Vivas go?

The earliness of all your assessments scares me. Really.

    Progress on Major Works

Mine is Poetry after Auschwitz : Postmodern Representations of the Holocaust. It looks at whether pomo representations of the Holocaust in any way trivialise it, and whether or not pomo thinking is what has led to Holocaust denial. I actually haven't started writing yet - the big killer is...

Proposal marks - what did you get?

Uh, 9.5/10. Which is annoying, because, you know, half a lousy mark...

    2006 critical responders!

Aren't you explicitly *not allowed* to use things which are on the booklist? That's the impression I always got, in any case...

    what TEXTBOOK do you use?!

Yeah, it's the same thing, I think. The yellow book, right? I use Jones and Couchman, for both 2 and 3 unit, but I've got Fitzpatrick and Cambridge at home. Isn't Maths In Focus supposed to be easier then Jones & Couchman?

Proposal marks - what did you get?

Man, how long ago did all of you DO your proposals? We handed ours in... two weeks ago, and we're yet to get marks back. Will probably be another three weeks until we get them, knowing our English faculty... :| What was everyone's word limit?

How long is your half yearly(hours)

We have 62 minutes to do the exact same thing. I feel ripped off :P

    Balance of Payments

The capital account involves... well, capital. It's not very influential, to be frank, very little money goes through it. A great example would be... say, Australia giving money to Africa to specifically build a bridge. It's aid for a specific purpose, I suppose. Most things you would consider...

Can someone give me some info about some topics

In a sentence on each of them: The CAD is short for the Current Account Defecit - Australia has run a CAD since 1973 (I think, I could be wrong), and it is largely due to overseas loans and hugggeeee net foreign liabilities. You might want to keep an eye on this thread here...

    China's Financial Markets

The PRC suffered from the Asian Financial Crisis of 1998-99, with official growth rates at 7.1% (low for China which was at the time enjoying growth rates upwards of 10%) and GDP slowing sharply. Unlike other South-East Asian nations, most foreign investment in China was in the form of...

    Australia's CAD

'Leading Edge' (the textbook) has some great notes on it, you might want to check them out. If not, I've got some handwritten ones that may help. If you can't get your hands on the textbook for whatever reason and you still want them, let me know and I'll see if I can scan a copy.

    2006 critical responders!

Questions: 1. What school do you go to? 2. When was/is your proposal due? 3. What was your word limit? For me, I go to Sydney Girls, my proposal is due 24/2/2006, and the limit is 1500 words.

    2006 critical responders!

I'm looking at critique too, so sounds as if we're (almost) all in the same boat. Thanks jhakka :) Anyone know where we can find the official showcase? I can't find it anywhere on the BoS site. It looks like the toughest part is going to be tying it in to 3U... well, good luck to...
