Hey go to this forum: http://www.medstudentsonline.com there is a wiki that explains it all. You can get in directly as an undergrad provided you have a good atar, UMAT and ace the interview, other entry methods depend on what criteria your lacking in.

Like SuperDumbo said it really depends on the individual. I have had many friends go through expensive prep courses only to do worse, whilst some prep courses may have helped others immensely.

Every university has different policies regarding mature aged students and graduate studies, etc. Usyd is one of strictest, as you would know you must have an undergrad degree in science or therapy to do the masters course, so unless you are willing to do that, it rules usyd out. ATAR...

It really depends on the university, the universities that have chem is a prereq e.g. JCU, Bond, Monash, Utas, etc generally no.
