USYD no longer offers the Bachelor of Arts (Adv) that used to allow you to attempt higher level units, so I had to enrol in a normal degree. The first year units for some subjects look boring - has anyone ever tried getting directly into second year units?

Yes. For SSP you change your enrollment later. About the level of olympiad required, it is hard to know. Most people who went to a camp can get a sufficently high mark in that subject to be allowed in. I can say that making a team seems to have easily been sufficent to get in for programming. I...

Main thing is you need to get experience. Once you have taught somebody something once, you can teach it so much better the next time.

I also recently won a Nobert Quirk Prize (for best submission for Sydney University Maths Competition).

Since the HSC is finishing soon, I will soon have spots available. Also as holidays are coming up I will have lots of free time to take on more students.
