I would say concentrate on developing as many skills as possible at this stage - employers would appreciate you to be as well rounded as possible. I'm still bumming at my retail monkey job in 4th year. Then again, if you can balance work and uni and life, a legal job will be excellent at this...

The workload of law isn't that bad, but it depends on what grades you're aiming for, and whether you're aiming for just a pass or HD/Ds. In a way, you do tend to have (especially from 2nd year onwards) a largely law based social-life in that you see your law friends more than your non-law...

exactly! nothing wrong with a credit; and there are four long years and multiple law subjects to pull up your GPA v one year with what, two law subjects? you should be happy with your marks and go out and enjoy the summer and ace 2nd year. =)
