As one of the people who did Business Studies, it's a BIG cop-out. someone did the course 6 weeks, and I did 1/5 the night before. (admittedly, neither of us got band 6s, but it was in year 10...). Much easier than doing commerce, and we bludged most of the time without a teacher. Fun :D

i'm through the worst of it now, but for nearly 2 weeks i haven't been able to play at ALL, having massively painful glandular fever. i'm making things worse for myself stressing about not being able to play/practise with performances only 2 months away. Does anyone know of situations where...

i've just had forced 2 weeks off so my range is probably dead.. but otherwise if i do Schlossberg for a while I can get an F out. D otherwise am doing hummel 2 for ext. and chris botti is hotter than sergei.

I know there are a whole range of things you can use to cut out the nerves. Some inhibit your memory a bit though, so research well before you pick one.

best to do an australian composer. The topic has an "australian focus" so, while you can do music from other composers, you should be able to clearly relate it to the topic. If you do one by a chinese composer, make sure you link it to all the australian composers who've been inspired by that...

I'm doing a radio play, so I'm listening to Airplay on Radio National, and searching out radio dramas. Then drawing comparisons between my own, and those ones. only difference for me is that I haven't written it yet.

ah... I might see if i can find another piece reeeal fast. already scrapped ignition and taxi. Summerbird is my least rehearsed at present. *dies* Kennan is hard. So that's where most of my work has gone... apparently the hummel 2 is hard, and few people play it, but I think its easier...

On trumpet: Core - Summerbird, Alan Holley Ext. 1) Kent Kennan's Sonata 1st Mvt 2) 2nd Hummel 3) "Quartet" for trumpet, double bass, clarinet and violin by Sydemon. The other guy doing ext. on double bass is playing it too, so we'll be marked at the same time.

He's found a formula that works. I can't take much of it, but clearly, other people can.

If you need a trumpet, I'll play and I don't know if you know Ben, but he's just moved to Coffs from Melbourne, I believe... he could too I guess. *doubts the likelihood that you'll play a piece needing 2 trumpets*

Rant here My knee's screwed, and will need arthroscopy and a reconstruction for my ACL... can't have surgery while I'm doing HSC or I won't be able to play my trumpet properly - that's the idea anyway. have ranted about this to everyone else, so rant to me, because you're probably worse off. :)
