    Life of Pi

I read this a while back and really enjoyed it. Very well written, nice use of symbolism, funny in parts, with some very vivid images (the 'carnivorous island' scene at the end still sticks in my mind). Also had some interesting things to say about spirituality and personal enlightenment.

    The Ashes

True, the channel 7 commentators suck (except for Stuey McGill). Is it just me or does Kerry O'Keefe have the world's most annoying laugh? Sounds like he's got emphysema

    The Ashes

That catch was just crazy, reminded me of jonty rhodes and ponting (in his hey day). Who would've thought Collingwood would come back a couple of days later, hit a hundred and take 6 wickets? Even though I hate to see England win they have some very talented players. Anyone else planning to...

important for workers and those looking for work!

Hey, it's good that you created this thread because unpaid trials really should be discouraged. For my current casual job (cashier) I had to do a 4 hour unpaid trial, and since I've been working there I've seen something like 5 or 6 new employees also doing unpaid trials. Their reasoning was...

    The Ashes

    The Ashes

So true, just doesn't feel right without Richie, Tony Greig, Ian Healy, Mark Taylor etc. Our batting isn't the problem it's our bowling, when was the last time australia scored 340+ and still lost? some discipline is needed, if anything they should try to bowl first against england tonight

    Ernst & Young

Cool, but did you have any experience in accounting before that or was it just because you wanted to some experience for your degree?

    NRL Thread

I don't know what happened to the roosters, everything was wrong, trying to offload when the pass wasn't on, kicking on the 1st, poor ball control, bad reads in defence, passing the ball off the ground...twice, absolutely shocking. Ricky Stuart has a LOT of work to do before this side can...

    MIGHTY SHARKS form slump

You're right Mcgoldrick sucks so much, see in the tigers game how he tried to tackle pat richards 5m out from the try line, but instead of going for the legs he went for the upper body. Worst attempted tackle I've ever seen, richards palmed him off like he was a fly. Im tipping the roosters...

    Iron chef

Yet he still remained so thin...? What a job trying 2,500 dishes cooked by the iron chefs & challengers. Can't believe it finished so long ago! they have to update it and bring out a new series, give it an international theme
