    Double Majors

You can take as many common courses as you like. But only 12 units of Level II and 6 units of Level III of common courses will count for BOTH majors. The rest of the common courses will count for one major or the other (but not both), so they'll be just like taking uncommon courses in either...

    Finance major

Everyone I've spoken to has said that once you get through the core finance subjects it gets a lot easier. FINS2624 is apparently the one that annoys most people, but after that it eases off a bit. Stick with it :)

    Question about logging in TAS

I used TAS for four subject last year (all first-year; two economics and two finance) and got into my first "good time" (i.e. the one on the very left) in each case. Maybe I just got lucky, or maybe it was because of how quickly after TAS opened that I put in my preferences.

Should I try to get into Commerce for Late Round?

You get no exemptions? Wrong. If you've studied all the core courses in the B Economics degree at UNSW they will not make you study them all again the following year when you transfer to B Commerce. You will get full credit for your studies and can have the confidence that upon transferring...

    Help

Okay, for Actuarial it is important to note that you don't take the two core maths subjects that the rest of the Commerce people do (which are Quantitative Methods A and B). Instead, you take: MATH1141 Higher Mathematics 1A OR MATH1151 Maths for Actuarial Studies & Finance 1A AND...

    Help Me (Advanced Standing)

UNSW got my academic transcript from UTS without any effort on my part. I think one of the pages when you went through the enrolment process online at UNSW said something along the lines of "I grant permission for UNSW to obtain my academic records from all prior institutions I have studied at"...

    Help with Unsw application!

Can't your S2 choices be varied any time throughout throughout Semester 1 as well? I'm pretty sure they don't lock you out it.

    enrolling into commerce/arts

IronMike: If you took a language (the same one) for both of the Arts courses in year 1, then yes, quite easy. BillyMak: You've got aaaages to work out what courses you want to enrol in. Many weeks. Just start having a read through the UNSW handbook website for your degree and reading about...

    enrolling into commerce/arts

I'm pretty sure the final hour will be what they call "self-directed study" (or something like that). I think they just lock you in a room with your spanish textbook for an hour. Best to go to the School of Spanish & Latin American Studies website and see if you can download a copy of...

    Help Me (Advanced Standing)

When I transferred from UTS at the start of '04 they automatically worked out the equivalent subjects and gave me credit from them. - Go to my.unsw.edu.au - Log in - Click "My Student Profile" - Click "Academic Statement" in the left hand column. That's where it showed (and still shows)...

You still get tutorials. Tutorials are the main part of most subjects. You'll get quizzes in some tutorials, most will mark attendance, you get more of an opportunity to ask questions, etc. Go to the FCE website, log onto TAS, use the drop-down menu to add any commerce courses you are taking...

    enrolling into commerce/arts

It is definitely possible. I had a plan worked out at one stage so that I could double major in Finance and HRM for Commerce and double major in Psychology and Japanese for Arts. Took me a while to realise that it's a pretty silly idea to spread yourself that thin. It's best to have good...

    enrolling into commerce/arts

Each number has a day and time next to it (in 24 hour four-digit time). You select at least three good times for each subject (by choosing the appropriate numbers for each time) and some bad ones too. I just put the bad times as the days I want off (even though you can only choose five)...

What about your QMA, Accounting and Microeconomics tutorials? I figure you've probably been told this already, but just in case you haven't, you have to select them on different site than my.unsw.edu.au Go to http://www.fce.unsw.edu.au and click on the link that says "TAS Class Preferences".

    enrolling into commerce/arts

Aww you mean I just wrote that out for nothing? Haha. Ah well, someone else might find it useful. I just transferred from Science into Commerce/Science. I did both the level one Economics courses and both the level one Finance courses. This year I've just got to do the Accounting level ones...

    enrolling into commerce/arts

Oh, as for the spacing out of the Spanish subject: You go to the lecture on Thursday and then two tutorials which are paired up. There are four sets of Monday+Wednesday tutorials and two sets of Tuesday+Thursday tutorials. If you go for the one of the latter pairs then you might be able to fit...

    enrolling into commerce/arts

Being late to lectures is common. Lecturers often don't start until 5 or so minutes past the hour because they understand that people have to come from other classes (sometimes at the opposite end of campus). You've got it right: Semester 1: ACCT1501 Accounting & Financial Mgt 1A (6 UOC)...
