    Talent 100

Um what the...? The "scaling thing" is actually really true. Obviously you have to be able to do well in that subject (that's one of the first things established in the Talent scaling talk thing), but if you're capable of doing well in every subject you do then obviously you have to allocate...

States for the Pickling of steel

    Hey, I was wondering if anyone knows the states for the equation of pickling steel. I have: <meta http-equiv="Content-Type" content="text/html; charset=utf-8"><meta name="ProgId" content="Word.Document"><meta name="Generator" content="Microsoft Word 12"><meta name="Originator"...

    help - aparatus name?

It's called a sintered glass funnel. I'd recommend you not write about this method in an exam though, and just say you used filter paper. This way it gives you more to discuss and criticise, in terms of validity, and the sintered glass funnel could be a suggestion to improve the validity.

    Very Hard Integration Question

That's most probably because I was the one who asked you this.

I couldn't get this integration question out. Anyone want to step up to the plate and prove their man/womanhood: %5Cint%20%5Cfrac%7Blnx%7D%7Bx%7Df%28x+%5Cfrac%7B1%7D%7Bx%7D%29dx

    Queensland Med Courses

Hey, I used to think that the UQ provisional med course was the most prestigious med course in Queensland, until recently where I have heard from many people that UQ med is the "if your UMAT and/or ATAR isn't good enough elsewhere, you can come here" type course. Of course this is...

    Projectile Motion question

I took a direct approach to ii) by: 1. finding the expression for c and then the expression for h 2. substituting the c and h expressions into the RHS of and then through simple algebra you can show that the RHS = LHS Also for part iii) you can also: 1. square both sides of c=Vtcos (theta)...

2009 UMAT - How did it go?

lol thanks for your kind words Ajeet. You know, it's your ability to encourage and support that really makes you an excellent staffie.

2009 UMAT - How did it go?

I don't follow... If I and II are active ... then in the next interval element II and III are active because right now, III is receiving signals from both II and I. II is also receiving a signal from I so it will be active in the next interval as well. similarly if I and III are active, ...

2009 UMAT - How did it go?

What other possible scenario is there? (keeping in mind that an element does not necessarily have to become inactive on the next interval)

2009 UMAT - How did it go?

I'm pretty sure the answer was "Audrey wins" because one of the rules of the game was that if you turn over a card and recognise where the pair is, then you must choose the pair on your second flip (this was explicitly specified in the question) I think the question was: if element I is active...

Marks deducted for using advanced method

Yeah I know the method you're talking about and I use it all the time!(but then again my maths teacher is competent) That particular use of definite integrals is a very valid method that practically everyone utilises in 4U mechanics. Unless the question specified the method, your friend should...
