Yes Yoakim, that's where it becomes vague. A court can FIND something - and that can be classed as recognition BUT There is also the notion of LEGAL RECOGNITION as being recognised in legislature. Mabo's case was famous for removal of Terra Nullius, and the discovery of a Native Title - but...

It becomes vague here. This is from the Living Religion textbook.... In regards to Mabo: "The High Court ruling FOUND a native title to land existed" In regards to NT93: "...is the LEGISLATION that RECOGNISED the existence of..." - and no one cares about the rest. So from this, it can be...

Fair enough - I wrote 2 (large writing) pages on what he proposed and the Davison germer experiment with a drawing and also supporting Bohr's model - I think i am missing something, but in any case, I dont think id get the full 7 marks - but yea, ican see what you are saying with the 7 marker...

For question 14 - the p type semiconductor - where in the question does it say "IN ITS NATURAL ORIGINAL STATE'? A property of a p type conductor is that it is positively charged during a voltage or when it absorbs a photon or whatever. The rest are wrong as the question broadly asks about a p...

What questions did you get wrong?

I 100% agree with you. I didnt know what they meant by all shaded - was it the lighter shade, darker shade, both? At least we'll get one mark for working out something :P

What is the Band 6 cut-off

Who said last year's paper was harder? Personally, I found it more easier, and I was able to get most of the marks in question 10 as they broke it up and i only lost 2 marks, whereas this year it was 4 marks for a part. Is there a definitive guide to how hard the exam was, or do we wait to see...

what if my error affects the next part of the same question?

Mate, it really depends on how their criteria is set out. If there is a mark for "identifies the correct answer", then the marker cannot give you the mark, it is out of their hands. However, usually the markers will decide on which question to penalise for forgetting units or whatever - but yea...

    General Thoughts - Mathematics

You asked quite a few questions, I'll try and answer them all, but i wont respond to the 'tis folly' bs. My method? I suck it up. An example would be from chemistry - I had expected long questions with meaty marks on the Haber Process and CFCs etc - NONE. All I got was crappy calculation with...

LOL me too!! But to the original poster, no way in the world you lost 6 marks if you showed yoru working and patterns in getting the answer. If all else was right, youd lose a maximum of 2 marks for using the wrong R and wrong answer (they could possibly even be lenient and call it a carried...

I hate that attitude. What the fuck did you think it was going to be? The same type of questions every year to suit your neat litte sense of security in trying to memorise the types of questions they give? This is year 12, grow up - my brother in yr 9 could do the exams if it was the same thing...

    Answers To Difficult Questions

The way I learnt it was that when electrons go from normal to excited state, they need to ABSORB energy, and when they fall back, they EMIT energy. Therefore, I don't know why you talk about electrons falling back into normal states. The point of the flame is to excite the electrons. When these...
