How big is the hole in your pocket? (2008 textbooks and materials)

If I buy my books brand new it will cost me about $497, which is an insane amount of money to spend. I've been looking on textbookexchange, but the ISBN codes are different from the codes listed on the co-op website. I'm not sure what to do :( .

    P-plate theft

Just take them off and put them on the drivers seat...that way you won't forget to put them on again before you drive off again, and nobody will steal them.

    Those Magnetic Number Plates

With the magnetic plates, I've been taking them off my car anytime I am parked - I just put the plates on the drivers seat, then I know that I won't drive away without having put them on again.

    Those Magnetic Number Plates

Just in case anyone is interested, somebody on ebay is selling adhesive P & L plates that stick on the windscreen or paintwork: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/STICK-ON-P-PLATES_W0QQitemZ270144124747QQihZ017QQcategoryZ72527QQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

You have to give way to pedestrians on roads too...not just mall carparks (hope you knew that!).

student allowance - get rid of it...

I receive youth allowance - $229 a fortnight. I started uni when I was 22 years old, prior to that I had been working fulltime since finishing year 12. So I had no trouble showing that I was 'independent' from my folks, although I still live at home. I am trying to get a casual job at the...

    Those Magnetic Number Plates

I wanted to stock up on magnetic P-Plates, but I noticed that everywhere is sold out of them. I've only got one set of them, so i'll have to be careful and remove them when i'm parking my car in public areas. I will probably also keep my static interior P's on my window as well, then at...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

:burn: What a shitty thing to do! For all you know, that L plater could have been on the road for the very first time...way to boost their confidence! I'm glad everyone honked - you deserved it!

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

Its better that I ask, than not know at all. I'm obviously no expert at driving and literally got my own car a few weeks ago - its not like I have been driving for years. Drivers can also be dickheads, no matter what their gender. I got tooted and abused the other day by a grown man for...

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

I kind of knew the lever did this - I just haven't used it, nor did I want to start mucking around with the mirror at 90km an hour with a 4WD so close to my car. Excuse the stupid question, but do you just flick the lever or do you have to readjust the mirror too? Like I said, I am new to...

    P1 Restrictions coming July07!

It should be compulsory that they be displayed on the inside of the car...then the driver cannot use the excuse of them falling off the car when trying to escape the demerit points from July.

    Most ANNOYING things when Driving

I hate it when cars do that! I haven't had my P's for long so am still fairly new to night driving...the other week I had this huge landcruiser behind my little hatchback with extremely bright headlights shining onto my rearview mirror. It was really irritating and I had to kind of move my head...

    P1 Restrictions coming July07!

I hate that rule...the first set of magnetic plates I bought flew off the car the 3rd time I drove with them. I like the sticky plates I bought that go inside my window. When I put the magnetic plates on my new car, I noticed that when I removed them to wash the car I could see where the...

Buying a car while on L's - would you do this?

I ended up getting a brand new car just over a week ago (and got my P's last month) :) - problem solved! ;)

    Jury Duty

I was summoned for jury duty late last year on the day of a final exam, so I sent in proof of enrolment along with my exam timetable and was excused. Then I got summoned again earlier this year in the uni holidays - I got to the court room but my juror number wasn't selected at random, so...
