I received a mark equivalent to 98% on this. It's an evaluation of Mikhail Gorbachev's role in the dissolution of the Soviet Union – complementary to personal interest in Russian history, the USSR and how it ended.
I received a mark of 98% on this task – it essentially discusses positive and negative, ancient and modern historical perspectives of the Roman emperor Julian the Apostate, who was notable for being the last pagan emperor.
In the form of a 2x2 table, with the relevent syllabus points on the sides so you can easily navigate between notes and their relation to the syllabus.
Good luck Year 11/12 M.HIS students.
Hi Year 10 students (and others),
I just thought I should write a quick thing to consider before you pick English Extension in Year 11 because it could be the difference between you really enjoying or disliking it.

If you are a STRAIGHT-TO-THE-POINT...
• ~1,500 words essay on the problems with constructing Holocaust history
• received an 18/20
• had to elaborate not just on the problematic methods of constructing history (like ommiting information, making up facts, etc) but also how this affects real historians - think of it like this: by...
For this task, we were required to write a critique of a modern-day issue (e.g same-sex marriage, human trafficking, etc) and I wrote about the emergence of fake news. We also had to write about the impacts our selected issue has on the micro, meso and macro levels of society.
Some feedback I...
Yeah...yeah, you're right. I really do want to get to that point. I feel like things will be so much easier if I just try and work through things positively. I really appreciate your input - am already calmed down more since people have said the same thing and empathise with what I'm going...
I do understand what you're saying. I acknowledge with my Dad that some parts of schooling is definitely easier now, like our access to calculators, the Internet, being able to email teachers when stuck, and so on. I just find it so so frustrating that he refuses to acknowledge that school might...
I get what you're saying but I've hated English since year 9 because it just got really analytical and unenjoyable from that point forward - I'd still get A's in my English tasks and awards at school ceremonies for it. I was doing well, but I hated it and just kept saying "when will I ever need...
That is a fair point. I hear a lot at school the idea of a fixed vs growth mindset. Am a natural pessimist and it is so hard to be optimistic - it normally comes in odd spurts here and there where I really feel okay with how I'm doing, because I know others are struggling too. I do appreciate...
From Year 7-10, I've always been confident in my studies, getting A's frequently save for when I'd have maths exams, which I'd work really hard to get high C's or low B's in. I thought I was so smart and really remarkable. Then, I start Year 11, and I find that I'm not that remarkable. If...
I'm looking at swapping Extension English out for Extension History, however I keep seeing "need a co-requisite of Ancient or Modern". So, would I need to discontinue my studies in one of those? Am already doing Ancient and Modern, but would I have to drop one to do Extension next year?
Thanks...
