Same, my instinct was all, but like I then thought selection couldn't. :(((

Did a quick search on selection sort, and all of the articles I've read state that the min/max value is swapped with the value at the leftmost of the unsorted section (ie first element of the unsorted). well, shit sadlyfe: http://ee.hawaii.edu/~tep/EE160/Book/chap10/subsection2.1.2.1.html

A and B were definitely incorrect, as they said the event driven approach occurred in a fixed sequence of processes, which is definitely incorrect.

Selection doesn't work, though? Selection starts with the first element in the array, and then finds the max/min element and swaps the two. Insertion and bubble can work fine, selection can never. If we were to get something like this: 1 2 3 4 6 5 Selection takes the value inside the...

It was something like "User input does not drastically change the execution", which was what I put since I had no idea what the other one actually meant.

Well, there goes my state rank chance :( probably lost like 3 marks altogether 97/100

I assumed the getPrice() method returned the current price, so I just said: if itemNumber > 3 THEN RETURN getPrice() * 0.9 ENDIF something like that.

tbhh, I found the mc harder than the rest of the paper. The sequential vs event driven software question was just confusing; narrowed it down to 2 possible answers, but I could not understand one of the choices at all.

It was this flowchart, which was a casewhere flowchart.

Oh yeah, it was state. Yeah, my thoughts as well. There are three results that you can have for match results, whether they won, lost or they drew. But the state of the traffic lights could only be either "activated" or "inactivated". Hence, why I chose traffic lights. I could be wrong though...

    Sdd 2017 hsc

I was confident it was the status of the traffic lights in a set, since they are either on or off (that was my reasoning for it). Ahh, I wasn't confident with that, but I did notice "middle" instead of "Middle", which meant that they couldn't actually print anything out in the end, since...

I was really hoping there was a legal implication question, because I knew the case studies would have necked everyone.

I personally thought it was one of the most interesting exams I've seen for SDD; Robo code was a bit ambiguous, and there were some mc questions that I personally thought had two answers, but other than that, no problem. Hopefully, a state rank, but I'm just expecting a band 6

    2017 HSC Mathematics Paper thoughts

It wasn't too bad, I'm looking at around 93/94 to 96 raw, depending on how harshly they mark it. Screwed up the loan repayment, as I put it = 0, instead of 80,000. Couldn't factorise dL/dx to find x. Everything else was alright.

    Tips for timed conditions

From what my tutor has told me, they particularly pay attention to your introduction and topic sentences. Try to perfect those, while not giving terrible body paragraphs (but it doesn't have to be "in-depth"), and you should be all set.

How do you do this cooderinate geo question?

    Let P(-7, 7) cut the interval AB in the ratio m:n. -7 = [(-2)n + 3m]/(m + n) -7(m + n) = -2n + 3m -7m - 7n = -2n + 3m -10m = 5n m/n = -5/10 m/n = -1/2 Therefore, the point cuts the interval in the ratio -1:2 The reason why you only need to do it once is because you're finding the ratio...

    Should I drop maths?

Well, ultimately, it depends on what you plan to do in university. Some courses have a "recommended studies" set. By no means is it compulsory, but it's there as a guideline for the assumed knowledge that you should be studying. For scaling, it changes every year (albeit not by much), but...

    Past Papers

For past papers on the Mathematics courses, I would definitely recommend AceHSC (http://www.acehsc.net/). They have past trial papers from schools such as James Ruse, Baulkham Hills, N. Sydney Boys/Girls, and more. On top of that, they have HSC resources and study notes, which are helpful.

    Failing MId term exams

Yes, the mid terms don't count a whole lot to your overall ATAR. If you do badly in your midterm, there is always time to catch up; it just matters how much effort you take to remedy this from hereon in. Year 11, last year, wasn't the best year for me. I finished 119th out of 151 people in...

    Half yearlies prep/stress/mistakes/other

I know a lot of schools are starting half yearlies now, and mine starts next week with English (Adv). For me, I usually spend 3 weeks at least prepping beforehand. All notes should be finished and finalised 3 weeks prior to the exams. 2 weeks before the exams were spent going through my notes...
