I've just heard that COMP1917 Semester 1, and particularly Richard Buckland, is one of the greatest things about UNSW? The course is supposed to be super fun and engaging, and Richard is meant to be a great lecturer. I'm just upset I missed out on all that hype. Semester 2 COMP1917 was pretty...
Haha. I did COMP1917 last year (and 1927 in the summer). However, I did it in Semester 2 so I missed out on the Amazing Richard Buckland Experience everyone whose done the course raves on about ): My only regret.
Yep. That's the one. My friend doing CompSci says she can't enrol in it, but I'm not sure if that's because she's under CSE and it won't count as a GenEd or not.
So I'm currently doing Civil Engineering and I'm choosing a Free Elective for Semester 2. I was looking through the Handbook and Seng1031 caught my eye, esp since I like coding/building software as a hobby. However, even though it says it is available for General Education, it also says that as...
So as a safety net would it be better off for me to take all of the units in my first year, just in case I don't get high enough marks? I personally believe I can maintain a decent marks, but both my parents believe otherwise and I don't want to take the chance.
I'm a bit worried about Media Arts/Comp Sci. Am I going to have to be super creative and been playing with photo shop since I was 10 in order to do well in it? :/
Thank you for the responses. I'll try and discuss it with my Dad, and I really hope he'll listen to me.
My ATAR is pretty bad. Different calculators are telling me different things, but I'm looking at around high 70s-low 80s at the moment.
I'm not sure if I can get into a Comp Sci. degree directly to UNSW. If not, what courses at what unis are there that could get me some kind of exemption at...
My HSC results this this year are a lot lower than I expected them to be (I /saw/ it coming because I slacked a lot, but seeing it in print sort of seals the deal). I'm devastated, and so are my parents. I wanted to do Comp Sci. at UNSW and then maybe try for Post-Grad Med, but that isn't...
If your school is in between Rank 1-5 (or recently Rank 1-10), then statistically, even with your rankings, you should most def be getting higher than 61. You have an extremely strong cohort, if you smash your externals you might even be able to slither into the 90s.
My sister went to Sydney...
You guys are my people. Let's eat comfort food and get fat together.
Also, I vote no one who did well in the trials can stay here. I don't need your positivity ):<
How strong will strong have to be?
Not sure if this counts for anything, but my school is usually in the top 10 in the state for English. So my cohort for that subject is relatively strong.
My trials were last week and due to personal reasons I pretty much bombed all of my exams with the exception 2Unit maths. Generally speaking, the mid-section of my cohort fluctuates a fair bit and these trials were worth 50% for us. And I'm pretty sure my ranking for most of these subjects have...
