How do you know that 97.5 was the nrsl rank for the last couple of years - I was only able to find up to 2012? Also is it possible that usyds incentive to lower the cut off was to matriculate more students overall rather than simply increase the proportion of direct school levavers to transfers?

NRSL: 97.725 ..... Sigh, I'm scared - especially with the lower ATAR cut off.
