You're doing exactly the same subjects as myself besides Business Services and SLR, so we can relate here. I'd recommend switching to English Advanced as standard is terrible and will hinder your atar score. If I could go back in time this would be something I'd change without a doubt. Also...

At the moment, I'm looking at a medium to high band five market. I received 2/7 on my trial examination with 82%. Overall I was only three marks behind 1st.

I'm around 950-1000 words on average which equates to around four pages of those HSC/Trial examination booklets.

My school has started handing the marks back out, in English the teacher even gave us all of the trial papers to take back home. I don't think they're allowed to though.

Go with Extension. I made the bad choice of selecting Standard English for the duration of this and last year and I'm regretting it at the moment.
