    preparation for maths course 1st year(no ext/ext 2 for hsc)

    Pretty sure you're the best guy ever right now :P Was feeling pretty intimidated by all the people around me saying engineering's a really hard course but I'm beginning to feel like it's more something that you just needa learn foundation by foundation and if you can do that, you'll be...

    preparation for maths course 1st year(no ext/ext 2 for hsc)

    Thanks for the suggestion! Would it be enough to know how to add, multiply and use the inverse, or do you think it's helpful to learn more? (looked through the videos on khan academy)

    Question about IPADS and unenrolling

    What do you do if you've accepted two offers then and want to 'unenroll' from one of them?

    Sleep vs HSC

    Don't kill yourself over HSC... about a month after finishing it you'll realise it's nowhere near as important as you think! Balance is everything and if you believe that sleep is optional you MAY get incredible marks but it's gonna mess you up in so many other parts of your life that are more...

    Working alongside eng.

    Parents wouldn't be so happy if I decided not to work but then again, it'd be a lot worse if I don't get the marks I need. I'll think about it and might get a few smaller jobs (dog walking or tutoring one or two kids on a Saturday) but just so I know, are the lectures recorded or do we only get...

    Working alongside eng.

    Both my brother and sister have had courses that demand low contact hours so haven't found it a problem to juggle a couple of days work alongside their degrees. Now I'm starting uni this year, I need to find a fairly decent job myself, though I'm starting to wonder if this is even possible with...

    Thank you so much for your response :)

    Transfering to Engineering

    If I did a B science, would I be able to do all the first year courses for B mechatronic eng/M biomed eng (http://www.handbook.unsw.edu.au/undergraduate/programs/2013/3688.html) ?

    Engineering without HSC physics (which points should I study?)

    I am hoping to do engineering this year but I didn't do the prelim/hsc physics course. I've purchased textbooks from a friend but I was wondering if anyone could tell me which sections/dot points are important for the course? Help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

    EAS - Registered health professional - Physio?

    I'm currently filling out an EAS form because of a car-bike accident I was in earlier this year that resulted in a broken wrist (it was my dominant wrist). For the medical impact statement, the instructions say that the "statement must be completed by a registered health professional who is...

    Quick question - EAS

    Nope, at the top of page 9 it says you need to "apply for undergraduate admission through UAC before you submit your EAS application."

    Why is Na2SO4 neutral but NaHSO4 acidic

    I know that an acid + a base form water and a salt but don't you add H2O to a salt to illustrate whether it's acidic, basic or neutral? (e.g. from the sample answer for 2008 q27b CH3COONa(aq) + H2O(l) --> H3COOH(aq) + Na+(aq) + OH–(aq) )

    Why is Na2SO4 neutral but NaHSO4 acidic

    So my reactions would be: NaHSO4 + H2O --> Na+ + HSO4- + H2O Na+ + HSO4- + H2O --> Na+ + SO42- + H3O+ and Na2SO4 + H2O --> 2Na+ + SO42- + H2O 2Na+ + SO42- + H2O --> 2Na+ + HSO4- + OH- ? That would account for why you're saying that NaHSO4 is acidic and Na2SO4 is basic but why does it work...

    Why is Na2SO4 neutral but NaHSO4 acidic

    but you said "then Na2SO4 will be neutral"?

    Why is Na2SO4 neutral but NaHSO4 acidic

    I think you mean NaOH and H2SO4? but then what about NaHSO4, which is also formed from NaOH and H2SO4?
  17. S

    Why is Na2SO4 neutral but NaHSO4 acidic

    But according to: "Na2SO4 is actually a very weak base" shouldn't it be basic instead of neutral (because the SO4 accepts protons)?

    Why is Na2SO4 neutral but NaHSO4 acidic

    Was going over salts as acids and bases and got confused when I saw that Na2SO4 is neutral but NaHSO4 is acidic. According to the rule, a strong acid + strong base -> neutral salt and since the sodium ions come from the strong base sodium hydroxide and the sulphur ions come from the strong acid...
