what do you mean possible? its the same as transferring to any other degree the wam cutoff is a lot easier to get to than the atar one though. not sure what it is but maybe 65-70 wam versus 98 atar, so if youre keen on the degree dont stress too much and try transfer after a year

Just transfer into Comm Lib Studies if you're keen. I remember putting it as my first preference but I'm so happy I didnt get it, much prefer Commerce/Science as it suits me a lot better. Got caught up with the whole ATAR = good degree bs

what info would you even get? i assume youre unenrolling before like week 2 or 3. barely anything would be up thats useful. even if it was, youd get it when you actually do the course too. or worst case get it off someone whos done it before not sure what uni youre at but getting UoS outlines...

how so? atars are higher at usyd than unsw for comm overall i'd say finance accounting unsw has the edge, and usyd has the edge in softer courses like HR, marketing etc. macquarie is quite good, but i dont think it's quite up there with usyd/unsw atm. usyds IPP program is really good too for...

really great post! i kinda agree with that for stats at unsw. it sounds like teaching there is a touch better but i quite like the resources we get at usyd and the structuring of the courses and degree makes a lot more sense to me

as usual unbiased and reasoned to OP, just listen to anyone except shadowdude both unsw/usyd are great unis, can't go wrong. don't know much about the rest like ANU. pick it more on things like the vibe, people you know/think you might like, location and just where you can see really enjoying...

free both ways though, its a good program but its a fair bit lost in potential wages too

pretty much this, know a fair few people from both unis and the cultures are vastly different usyd and unsw also recently published detailed atar stats on all their degrees. should give you more insight into the atars than just the cutoffs since unsw gives away bonus points very easily...

hahaha i dunno, maybe - i know a fair few too but i only did 3011 this year, no other FMAS specific units the rest all did 3911/2/3/4 and/or 3975

likewise (3 years out of 5 though not final year) definitely enjoying FMAS - lecturers arent amazing but the courses and degree are very well structured and course notes are really good could combine it with arts if you wanted to do some econ - not sure on your preferences i think if...

also add in those bonus points they give away like candy band 6 in 3unit and 4unit and youve gotten that down to 91 already. band 6 in english or physics too and its 90

yeah true unsw's official websites wasnt enough to prove that. was referring to screenshots on of an equivalent gumleaf plot in 2008 on BoS, not some random people's comments

ive seen threads from 2008 showing UNSW's avg wam at 70 as well and given all the grade dists i see at usyd, 65 avg here sounds about right. i know an econ lecturer who tries to have his below 60 - skipped his class this sem, ill try do it in a year or two with a different lecturer but okay...
