    labor/liberal/greens

That'd be difficult to do objectively in a sentence or two. Bonus points for asking about the party and not the leader, though, you're clearly smarter than the majority of this forum community.

    2010 Federal Election

Abbott can attribute quite a bit of his support to him not being Malcom Turnbull.

QLD police arrest those explaining the true meaning of the Swastika symbol.

Pretty sure it's been corrupted beyond repair.. Put it to rest?

    2010 Federal Election

Last I heard he spouted that Clintonian line: safe, legal and rare. Even though he doesn't condone such a large number of abortions; he couldn't possibly have it banned if he tried, it's basically a non-issue here.

Jessi Slaughter and the 4chan trolls - the case for censoring the internet

Forget internet censorship; this girl is pushing the case for 14th trimester abortion legalisation.

    2010 Federal Election

Well a high abortion rate is a bad thing. Even pro-choice activists would agree that less unwanted pregnancies would be better than more abortion. Wanting less abortion does not mean wanting to ban abortion. There are ways to reduce abortions which include an attitude shift, education, etc.

Political Views and Occupation/Profession/Degree of Study

Good point, I've never heard it phrased that way but I like it. Definitely more relevent to the left/right wings of a fairly centrist country like Australia.

    2010 Federal Election

Yeah, each of these are Abbott policies. Oh, wait, no. You've been fed crap by the media. Neither party plans to implement gay marriage and I have no idea where the idea that Abbott is a religious fundamentalist who hates women and wants to ban abortion came from. I mean, other than childish...

I'll vote for them: Secular party of Australia

Sounds like a pretty worthless cause for a party to persue with such intensity.

    2010 Federal Election

This made me rofl for some reason. Nice work.

    2010 Federal Election

The only MPs who I've heard voice loud opposition against the censorship have been Liberal, and only a few of them. The only one coming to mind is Alex Hawke.

Election called - THE LAST DAY TO ENROL IS MONDAY!

Your use of the word 'spiv' has rendered you unable to give any sort of word use advice. Sorry, you did have a point up until then!

60 Minutes Interview with Julia Gillard.

So, could she have been thrown any more softball questions? I'm sensing an incoming Australian election coverage similar to the American media's Barack Obama lovefest during his 2007/8 campaign.

    2010 Federal Election

Macquarie, correct me if I'm wrong with it being the most marginal in NSW.

Election called - THE LAST DAY TO ENROL IS MONDAY!

Oh, I see. Well, the Nazis invented the Volkswagen, this doesn't many anybody who drives one wants to kill Jews.

Election called - THE LAST DAY TO ENROL IS MONDAY!

I didn't know they had claim to the watermelon term? Meh, I like it. (Fred Nile's son was my PE teacher in year 8... he was creepy.)

Election called - THE LAST DAY TO ENROL IS MONDAY!

Well if you're not trolling, you're the poster child of the watermelon thinking stereotype of city Greens. Everybody outside a major city is inferior in knowledge and worth to the arts degree-holding, Marxist-reading latte socialist Greens voters.

    2010 Federal Election

After a redistribution, my seat went from safe Liberal to the most marginal (I think) in NSW. Should be an interesting election, considering I don't go insane by hearing 'Moving Australia Foward' or 'Real Action' too many times. I hate vacuous slogans.

France: Muslim criminal gets shot by police, rest of Muslims riot

Those better-behaved Muslims need to voice their moderation much louder, so they're not represented by the crazies of their religion. However, that article just brought to mind this quote: "The 'offense to Islam' ruse is just an excuse for Muslims to revert back to their default mode: rioting...
