I am always contemplating self-serve lol...
1. GUI change
2. Fix up produce functionality. eg. get rid of scale errors when weighing produce and bagging errors. We are the fresh food people for god's sake!
3. Produce managers need to manage their lookup menus and put things under the letter...
Good update... no problems evident so far.
Definitely like not having to press store log in on the SCO's.
Especially for approving signatures... signature appears much quicker.
And Payment in progress screen was well overdue.
Wording on payment screens should make it easier for customers :)
Sounds like some great changes are happening. My store got the upgrade last night, went in today... noticed the Qantas points info on the SCO and customer screens... hopefully customers will realise what they are missing out on now!... not sure about the smaller font on receipts... thay are tiny...
it sure is an ugly UI!!
charity donation - basically a new lookup button where customers can donate money to charities... it is currently available on wowpos registers but I don't think anyone in my store has ever used it.
does anyone know of any major changes to the wowpos registers in...
we haven't changed how we handle the SCO money but it could be due to it (nearly) always being short of money. I blame this on the machines.
I saw that documentation too... when talking to an NCR technician he said that Woolworhts was getting the new SCO's (like Coles)... so probably for new...
Wow I am impressed! 8 express open lol... on a Saturday we would have 7-8 large open and only 2-3 express open. We used to have up to 6 express lanes open but now a lot of people go through self serve.
... some people queue at self serve when there is no one waiting at express! lol they just...
Hey Harry,
Was just taking a look at your photobucket pics and that layout you have done of the Northbridge store is massive! I'm assuming this is your store?
How many express and big checkouts would you have open on a Saturday?
So are you currently doing the Coles graduate program? how's it going?
I have a friend doing the coles one and would say that you have been brain-washed to think that Coles is so much better than Woolworths.
But fair enough you can't like both companies at the same time!
ok I was talking about the large green arrows hanging from the ceiling at the front and back of every aisle.
...but yes the tickets and smaller arrows on the data strip would have also been painful.
Yeah I also like the Coles self-serve. It's cool how you just throw the coins into the bowl. lol
I'm pretty sure they aren't still trialling them. I've seen them in quite a few new/refurbished stores.
Staggered express lanes are the ultimate and I did actually cry when we lost them with the refurb. People actually liked serving on express, working with your friends, easier for customers (1 queue) and much easier for express alerts!!
We used to have 6 staggered attached to the service desk...
