I would suggest 1984 by George Orwell. Its not too challenging but it does really get you thinking. I think its one of those texts that everybody has to read during their life, so why not study it in depth?

Yeah I got to a fairly good school and we have had half yearlies and yearlies since year 7. They are meant to help prepare you for the style of question you will face in the HSC. I dont think they are a waste of time at all.

I do no regular study at all. I do what I like after school, hang with mates, play sport, then get home at around 7pm. From there, I sit down, and get all my homework done in one block. I find alot of people in my school saying the hate physics and that they would drop it at the end of year 11, but once they get there they keep the course. Stick in there, you'll probably grow to like it.
