    Egyptian Revolution

... thanks for that irrelevant article from the newspaper that described the IDF operation in Jenin 2002, where around 50 Palestinians were killed, mostly militants as the same as 9/11, where over 2000 civilians were killed by planes that arrived, unannounced, into the World Trade Center. I...

    Egyptian Revolution

Re: What do you think of the current revolution in Egypt? Under what legal jurisdiction is Israel an illegal state? The only 'authority' that comes close to determining such issues is the UN, which OK'd the creation of the State of Israel in 1948. In the last couple of days Hamas have made...

    The Crises of Capitalism

SylvesterBr, if you have time please explain to me the practical steps that would need to be taken in order to establish a completely free market. Use Australia as an easy example. As in, from what what we have now, what would be the processes (revolution? just legislative changes? abolition of...

    greens voters

But the point is that many gay couples want to get married just like straight ones, they don't care if you or I think that people can still love each other without signing the paper.

    greens voters

Yes. I multi-quoted this because I disagreed with the gist of the comment. But in detail it's almost impossible to understand because of your terrible lack of punctuation or grammatical norms. Full stops are friends, not food. Perhaps people of all minorities have earned their right to...

The working class is nonsensical and starting to piss me off

Are the Greens on the rise? Last newspoll had their primary vote unchanged at 14% from memory, and they also didn't win any lower house seats at the Vic elections. Even here, where they're in a coalition government, their vote in the election didn't come close to what the polls were indicating...

Why do people wear sneakers if they're not exercising?

Under the classification "absolutely hideous" I feel like I've been put in a time warp back to 1999 on this thread. Admittedly I know some lovely people who wear jeans and sneakers, I just avoid looking at their feet or spending too much time with them in public places. Well I always...

Why do people wear sneakers if they're not exercising?

i wear some lovely black adidas things. or thongs with shorts, of course. more interesting question: why do you people still wear jeans and joggers in the 21st century? THAT is a crime of fashion.

Do you think climate change is real, and man made?

Melting glaciers and polar ice caps, coupled with the thermal expansion of the ocean, causes sea levels to rise, misplaces those in low-lying coastal areas, in turn causing social and economic impacts with large numbers of refugees. Increased extreme weather events including cyclones...

Why do people wear sneakers if they're not exercising?

because they're terribly unfashionable... is probably the closest answer to the sociological truth.

    UFO sighting in jerusalem

Re: 回复: Re: UFO sighting in jerusalem yes, "spy devices, but capable of flying" are often referred to as drones.

Do you think climate change is real, and man made?

I would say that their reporting is balanced at least, half the time... It certainly has the most thorough reporting of national politics and issues out of any papers, by far. It is the best-resourced and the most committed to actually reporting news. But yeah on the environment/NBN the reports...

Post your 2011 University Offers here

I got Bachelor of Communication (Journalism) at RMIT. Said no in hope of second preference and then got a lovely notification saying I shouldn't have been so ungrateful and that I'm not getting any more offers. Or something similar. Should get into BA at UniMelb starting in July!

Do you think climate change is real, and man made?

The same man that charges one a 14 pound "fee for the service of checking-in online", although when you fail to check-in online you are charged forty pounds "for the service of checking-in at the airport." He is a bastion of common sense and someone I listen to regularly for opinions on climate...

    Egyptian Revolution

Re: What do you think of the current revolution in Egypt? He's resigned, so yeah i guess. Unless the transition isn't orderly and a the muslim brotherhood fills the void and act on their anti-israel rhetoric and go tearing up the peace treaty and start smuggling arms into Gaza... Then it won't...

    New York University campuses exchange

A few reasons 1. The subjects on offer are all about modern Israeli politics, society and history, the Arab-Israeli conflict, journalism, security issues etc, which are all big passions of mine. 2. Staff are super, including Eytan Fox, a director of gay-themed Israeli film and television. 3...

    UFO sighting in jerusalem

I was in J-Slam in Oct and there are so many military/intelligence aircraft doing circles in the sky all day and all night and even if you couldn't see them you could hear them. It was probz testing for some wizzbang new Israeli spy plane. Having said that i can't watch the vid cos of my...

    New York University campuses exchange

NYU, in addition to its main campus in New York City, has campuses in Accra, Tel Aviv, plus a bunch of other European and Latin American cities that I can't remember, which are open to non-NYU students to spend a semester or two studying in. Has anyone had any experience with the NYU...
