year 1 courses are pretty standard throughout all disciplines. dont need to worry until 2nd year basicly.
and if your WAM is above 65, changing would just involve filling in a sheet of paper (well a bit more than that but yeh :P)
computing for mech: comp1911 OR engg1811 (for specification purposes)
however beceause engg1811 is quite useless (learning excel in first 5 weeks then rest of the time on java) many would choose comp1911 instead.
if you're doing mechatronics even if its not compulsory then it would at least be...
don't think i know you.. never used this for msn name. "Lee-.-Roy" is there only because thats what i have on my yr 12 jersey. My real name has nothing to do with it =)
im from Sydney Boys High class of 08'?? probably no idea..?
ENGG1000 is offered in both semesters (just to confirm). This is confirmed apparently with an e-mail from someone from ESC. The handbook stuffed up this time.
as with ENGG1000, click here and scroll down, and you'll see my reasons why you wouldn't wanna do it in 2nd semester. Don't follow my...
and with the bit on 'prior 2006'
argh gosh.. didn't realise that lol. but there were adjustments to courses from 2006 onwards and that is why there are new plans written out =).
lucks with it all ;)
in 2nd semester engg1000 you have
- only one project to do, so theres no choice
- probably a project that is harder than what you'd get from 1st semester. I personally had a mixed mechanical and electrical project
- most students in 2nd semester are overseas student who cannot do ANYTHING...
For your info, I did ENGG1000 in 2nd semester just last year and it was crap because you had no choice over anything.
I do believe the handbook is wrong in this instance (as weird as it is). Do accept it as a valid qn please.

lol take it easy. really as i've explained before, its basicly 'anything' you want if im not mistaken.
ie apart from physics, choose something else..! alternatively, choose something other than physics. if you've done physics for HSC, then do phys1121 etc. maybe do chem.. anything...
i guess...
click here for link to your program plan. click here for a list of all available plans if this isnt your one.
if you scroll down with the first link right after the first table under program structure you see this:
