^^ You do the PFA(beep test, push ups etc.) on a different day to your assessment day.

    RAAF are full of homos.
  4. G

    ADF Gap Year

No. One year is no walk in the park. You still have to be committed for that year

Hehe. I'd imagine it to be like the footy team, everyone's always trying to rat on someone. Sounds fun. Lucky I'm going fulltime.

    ADF Gap Year

The majority will be full timers though. There not gonna fill battalions with gappies who'll piss off after 1 year, that's money wasted.

Anyone going army should try these, they give good info if you take in the BTDT's advice and ignore the keyboard jockeys. www.ausspecialforces.com/phpBB2/index.php www.aussiearmy.org/forum/

If you haven't applied yet get cracking and do it. The recruitment process takes on average about 6 months, yet if you have any suss medical problems it could take much longer. Even if you go to a YOU day it doesnt mean they own you it's just to give you info on career paths.

I heard that soldier entry is shit because you don't get enough time at kapooka to decide what corps you want to be in and they end up persuading you into something like catering.
  10. G

    ADF Gap Year

Officer entry aye, I didn't know you could do that in the gap year in any service. People calling it a scam is bullshit. It is a smart tactic to attract the ones who go to university back to the military (hence the $10k bonus). You either do your year and get out our continue. People who do...

No my nurse was a chick, the doctor was a guy. You get the basic 4 weeks leave for a year, plus if you spend more time in the field you might get more.

^^ Yeah, the doc gives the package a quick check, mainly your nuts for about 1 sec. It's to check for any abnormalities/cancer

Mate I'd be suprised if anyone could do 5 sit ups touching their toes. You only have to get your wrists to your knees. 3rd Feb for me, full time rifleman. As for assessment day just talk confidently about why you want it. All they want to know is if you know what your getting yourself into and...

For the army it's 4 weeks I don't know about navy or air force though. Sonic the whole process takes a while, I waited about 6 weeks to have the assessment day from YOU day.

    It's 12 months including training
  18. G

    ADF Gap Year

Well they can't make you but i'd imagine they'd persuade you a lot to do something like that cos they aren't getting the numbers for those sorts of jobs. Why didn't you just put rifleman as your 1st choice?
  19. G

    ADF Gap Year

Yeah id watch out for them trying to push you into a catering job or something like that matt, as they get a steady flow of infantry anyway. Just resist the persuasion. I've had my assessment day, but I still have to finalise an enlistment date. ricky what did your mates say about it in darwin...

    ADF Gap Year

My mate who just got out said that gappie riflemen are getting used as enemy party........... sounds ghey. Plus you can't get deployed Jan 12th ay ricky, thats pretty much when i wanna book my enlistment. Full time rifleman, might see you round. :uhhuh:
